Barbara Jean Anderson, 79, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2025. Barbara was born on November 3, 1946, in Toledo, OH, to Theodore and Irma (Young) Buckholtz. She began her career with Toledo Public Schools in the early 1980s as a cafeteria worker at Calvin M. Woodward High School and later retired as a Stationary Engineer after many years of dedicated service.
In 1981, Barbara married the love of her life, Robert F. Anderson, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, and laughter.
Barbara's greatest joy was her family and friends. She loved bowling, poker, Hand & Foot, Bunco, and bingo. Known for her warm heart and inclusive spirit, Barbara always made sure family gatherings were filled with love and harmony, welcoming everyone to celebrate together. Her homemade potato and macaroni salads were legendary among her loved ones-though her coleslaw was often the subject of playful debate.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Rita Knab, and Tina Knab; granddaughter Stephanie Strange and her father Charles Strange; great-granddaughter Sasha Strange ; her brother Ronald (Benita) Brandeberry of Aiken, SC ; sons Robert (Judy) Anderson, Ric (Crystal) Anderson; and daughter, Windy (Joe) Kirtlink; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert F. Anderson; brother Theodore Buckholtz II; sister Marlene Kyler; sister-in-law and best friend Maria Brandeberry and grandson, Robert Christopher Anderson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tina, who lovingly cared for both Barbara and Robert during their time of need. Your devotion and compassion made them proud and brought comfort in their final years.
Friends will be received on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at The Robert Shank Chapel at Sunrise Cremations and Funerals, Walbridge (701 N. Main St.) 419-666-3121 from 10 A.M. until the time of Services at Noon. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemeterty, Toledo.
Barbara's kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
