Arthur Smith

Arthur L. Smith was born June 25, 1934, in Darling Mississippi to Mary Louise Gilbert. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 3, 2022, at Genacross Lutheran Service-Wolf Creek Campus under Hospice of Northwest Ohio.He attended Jesup W. Scott High School and excelled in carpentry and auto mechanic curriculum. Mr. Smith was employed at Donovan Steel as a die caster for 14 years, Days Inn transportation driver for 3 years and worked for the City of Toledo in various jobs for 6 years.Arthur was always passionate and caring for others. He was a Harley-Davidson man and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. One of his hobbies was communicating over the Citizens Band (CB) radio frequencies allocated for the public used to send and receive messages to each other. He also enjoyed his model car collection.Arthur was preceded in death by his mother Mary Louise Gilbert, wife Linda Marie (Bohner) Smith, son Shawn Smith, Gracie Lee, and Annie Mae Redfern. He leaves to cherish his loving memory; children Maxine Brown-Smith, Evelyn Gilbert, Nicholas (Linda) Bohner, Michelle (Billy) Handshoe, Andrea (Daniel) Taylor, Amber (Gary) Bumpus, Danielle (Lavonda) Smith. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many close family and friends.
