Arlene V. Suter

Arlene V. Suter, age 94, of Toledo, died November 30, 2018 at The Lakes at Monclova. She was born October 16, 1924 in Toledo, the only child of Harold and Ethel (Bernuis) Huiss. She was a 1942 graduate of Woodward High School, where she had the lead in the operetta her senior year. While employed at the Electric Auto-Lite, she met her husband, Elroy. After being a stay at home mom, she then worked at Smiths Cafeteria and the Top of the Tower. Arlene was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed singing and square dancing at the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and made many beautiful things. While Arlene did not travel much, she did in her early 70s travel to Ireland with her cousin her 1st airplane ride. Survived by her children, Linda , Gary, and Ron (Debbie) ; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; adopted daughter Norma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy, and step-son, Lee. Friends will be received at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home (1163 W. Sylvania at Lockwood, 419-269-1111) on Wednesday from 2-8 PM. The family would like to thank The Lakes at Monclova for their loving and compassionate care and Hospice of NW Ohio for their guidance and special care.
