Arlene Louise Smith

Ms. Arlene Louise Smith, affectionately known to everyone as Ms. Arlene and Gigi to her grand and great-grandchildren, went home to be with the Lord on Wed., June 24, 2015 at home in Toledo, Ohio at the age of 75. Ms. Arlene was born March 30, 1940 to Mrs. Mary Emma Williams and Arthur Tucker in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Preceding her in death are her former husband, Mr. Milton Smith; her good friend, Mr. Charles C. Kulwicki, Sr; son, Charles J. Kulwicki; mother, Ms. Mary Dalton; and sister, Ms. Leona Lipscomb. After graduation high school, she left Mississippi and moved to Toledo, Ohio and work at Pinkerton Tobacco Factory. She also worked as nurse at Maumee Valley Hospital and at the Health and Retirement Center. Ms. Arlene had many hobbies. While shopping was the first on the list, making flower arrangements was her joy. She was also a member of the Elks and worked in the kitchen. Ms. Arlene confessed Christ at an early age. She was an active member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Guild. She loved Jesus and her church family and would participate in all the activities of the church. She was a loyal and dedicated servant of the Lord. Ms. Arlene Gigi Smith leaves to cherish her memory and continue in the journey to glory her two daughters, Ms. Sandra E. Smart, Ms. Yvonne C. Kulwicki; three sons, Mr. Eugene (Marsha) Holmes Dalton, Jr., Mr. Gregory (Jennifer) Dalton, Mr. Mark (Sauna) Kulwicki; step-son, David Kulwicki; step-sister, Ms. Helen Mays; special niece, Ms. Debra Stewart; God-daughters, Ms. Landress Luckey and Ms. Michelle Wormly; Play-Sister, Theola Thompson; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins; her Jerusalem Baptist Church family and many friends. She will be deeply missed and was loved by all her knew her. Visitation will be June 29, 2015 from 4pm 8pm at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 1163 W. Sylvania Ave. Funeral Services will be on June 30, 2015 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 445 Dorr St. with family hour at 9am and service at 10am, Rev. Dr. W.L. Perryman, Jr. officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, Toledo, OH.
