Mrs. Annie Ruth Burt was born on August 24, 1930, to Octavia (Springer) and Richard Gray in Lamar County, Alabama. She passed away March 4, 2021 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH. Ruth married the lover of her life Ezria Babe Burt in 1951, who preceded her in death on January 24, 2007. A mother of seven children, family was paramount to her. She loved and enjoyed her children and extended family members immensely. She graduated from Palestine High School in Nettleton, MS on April 4, 1950. Ruth was a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church of Nettleton, MS, and St. Paul Baptist Church of Toledo, OH. She loved the lord and was delighted in singing his praise. Ruth is survived by her; children Denise A. Burt, Deborah J. (William) Ragans, Ezria L. (Kia) Burt, Tammy M. Burt, Kimberly R. (Eric) Ellis, Wende D. Burt, and Eric L. (Shannon) Burt; special nephew Kenneth (Joyceanne) Gray; grandchildren Harmonye (Donte Langston) Darling, Shizuko (Jason) Molden, Natasha Burt, Tiffany (Jacob) Perry, Daniel Jackson, David Mack, Stacey Summers, Adam (Samantha) Summers, Ashley Burt-Ellis, Eric Ellis II, Jasmine Darling, William (Jillian) McCoy, Raven Holloway, and Matthew Rocker; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Lola V. (Clyde) Woods, Gladys A. (Robert) Ware, and Cathy Gray; and sister-in-law and friend Lily (James) Gray. Annie Ruth is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband; brothers Frances and Richard Jr. (infants), Dotson Gray, James Richard Gray, and J.D. Westley Gray; and sisters Joyce Ann Gray, Minnie Nell Acker, and Vera Lowe. Ruth leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that she loved dearly. Family and friends will gather at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. Toledo, OH 43613, on Wednesday March 10th, 2021, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.Do not stand at my grave and weep.
