Anita H. Rubenschuh Robinson age 63 of Toledo, formerly of Monroe passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Anita was battling Metastatic Breast Cancer for the last 7 years. Born December 11, 1954 in Mannheim Sandhofn Baden Wurtenburg Germany. Anita was the daughter of the late James Broady Robinson and Erika Rubenschuh Robinson. Anita, her mother Erika and 3 aunts Helena, Elizabeth and Anita moved from Germany to Canada, while she was still a young girl. Later in her youth Anita and her mother Erika and Aunt Elizabeth moved to the United States. Anita moved to Kansas with her Aunt Elizabeth Johnson and spent her remaining teen years in Kansas. In Kansas Anita became a proficient Horseback rider where she competed and won many ribbons Barrel Racing. She then married Michael King and moved to Monroe after his military service. While living in Monroe Anita worked as a registered Nurse for some years. Anita also taught in Toledo, Ohio the Art of Belly Dancing and became a belly dance teacher. With many of her students living off campus from the University of Toledo and several more from the Monroe area. Anita danced under the name of Sultana Saadet. Anita also enjoyed writing poetry with several poems being published. After meeting her longtime companion Alva N Neikirk in 1984, they spent some time visiting her mother Erika in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1990. They later moved to Nebraska and returned to her first love of working with horses on a ranch. They both returned to Monroe in 1992. Anita also enjoyed reading and studying different cultures and religions, horseback riding, working with horses. She also enjoyed cuisine from different cultures especially the Middle East. Surviving is her step-son Alva (Jennifer) Neikirk of Monroe; five step grandchildren; an Aunt Anita (Edward J) Taves of St Jacobs Ontario Canada. Anita was preceded in death by her longtime companion Alva N Neikirk earlier this year; her aunt Helena; aunt Elizabeth Johnson and mother Erika (Robinson) Bulpitt. At Anitas request no funeral services will be held. A direct cremation is planned and will be performed by Blanchard Strabler Funeral Home of Toledo, Ohio. Donations may be directed to Breast Cancer research.
