True to the manner in which he lived his 90 years, Alfred Studtmann, of Walbridge, completed his journey on this Earth Thursday, March 4, 2021 as a role model of faith and family. He was born May 28, 1930 to Hermann and Minna (Koester) Studtmann in Bothel, Germany. He immigrated on the USS United States in 1954 with a suitcase and $100. After establishing himself as a dedicated and skilled trades tinsmith, he married Edith (Heise) Studtmann on November 24, 1962, who preceded him in death on November 29, 2010. Alfred was a loved and respected father to Ronald (Wendy) Studtmann, and cherished Opa to Anna Studtmann of Louisville, KY and Allison Studtmann of Fort Thomas, KY. In addition to his beloved wife, Alfred was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Hermann and Gerhard of Bothel, Germany. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, OH (419-666-3121). The Funeral Service will be held privately. Following the church service, all are welcome to attend the committal service at Lake Township Cemetery around 12:15 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021.
