It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Albert "Butch" Lee Easton, 82, who passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg on April 24, 2026. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 19, 1943, to Howard and Marie Easton, Butch lived a life dedicated to service and community.
Butch attended Woodward High School before enlisting in the Army in 1966. He achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class, specializing in the piloting and maintenance of Army watercrafts and M113 Armored Personnel carriers. For his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Marksman (Carbine) badge, and Marksman (Rifle M-1) badge, receiving an honorable discharge in July 1966.
Following his military service, Butch joined the Lucas County Sheriff's Office in 1977. He earned his deputy sheriff certification in 1979 and rose to the rank of Corporal. Though he initially retired in 2004, he returned to serve in Courthouse security in 2012 before officially retiring in 2015.
Butch was a dedicated member of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, a non-profit fraternal organization for active and retired law enforcement officers focused on charitable fundraising. Over the past decade, he served the Ohio X (10) chapter as a trustee officer, where he was instrumental in managing funding and charity duties. He was deeply devoted to various causes, with a particular interest in supporting the Sunshine Children's Home.
In addition to his service, Butch was an avid sports fan. He was passionate about the Detroit Red Wings and followed college football as a loyal supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved the Miami Dolphins, especially Dan Marino, and was a great fan of racecar driver Dale Earnhardt.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marie, and his brothers, Dick, Bill, and Howard.
